If you can’t stop thinking about it…

So, first of all, HAPPY JULY! I’m so excited for this month. Awesome things are happening and who doesn’t love summer?! Although, I just wish it would stop raining!

Today marks the day, that I turned freelyfatima.wordpress.com into FreelyFatima.com

My own sanctuary. A place that I can call my own. I was so excited when I launched this blog, I had all of these ‘brilliant’ ideas, topics, and thoughts. And then, life took a major turn and I stopped writing. There was sickness in my family, and I experienced a very precious loss of my own…not everything was bad. I got a new job, PASSED my social work licensing exam, my husband and I put an offer in our first house(!!! Stay tuned), my hubby has accepted his call to ministry and started grad school, among so many other great things!

Needless to say my life has been a whirlwind this year! Each day that went by, I would feel guilty not only with this venture but other business opportunities that I was pursuing that I am truly passionate about. I would beat myself up, feel guilty about not doing enough..just a lot of negative self talk. BUT! Something in me would keep checking to see if people were still reading my posts..and they were! In fact, my views have been consistent each month since February when I put my last post up.

I got an email from my hosting site like everyday last week saying “renew your domain, it’s going to expire.” I waited until the very last day, and even then this little voice inside said, “Don’t renew it, you haven’t written a blog post in 5 months, stop playing yourself.” But then, I heard a BIGGER voice say, “For I know the plans I have for you…”

This blog and my business venture with one of my best friends was birthed from a vision bigger than my own. I don’t have all the answers, I don’t know what will come of it, but I know that I have just got. to keep. going….! My dreams seem so grandiose sometimes, but I just believe that with God ALL things are possible.

If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it!

So I’m back. Taking it one day at a time. 🙂

30 Days of Gratitude – Day 12 – Letting Go

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

I am so grateful for having the ability to let things go. I have been, sometimes still am someone who holds on to things that people do to me or say about me. I have not always been one who is easy to forgive until I realized that forgiveness and holding grudges is not about the person I have an issue with, it’s about me! Why would I want to continue to be miserable about something that has happened in the past? Everything in our life always works out for our good whether we can see it now or not. God allows us to go through things so that we can learn and grow from them, to discover our purpose, to become better than we were before. Sometimes we have to operate as if we got an apology that we know we won’t get. Sometimes we just have to Let. It. Go. This is not to negate how life an impact us, but is more about how we deal with life. How do we deal with people who are ill willed or hurt us? It’s doing you more harm than good when you hold on to the hurt and pain. It is so freeing to rid oneself of a stronghold. That’s what it is. Letting go is an act of love to yourself and I am so grateful for just letting things go!

30 Days of Gratitude – Day 9 – Corporate Worship

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

I am so grateful for corporate worship. When a body of believers come together to worship God, it is a powerful thing. I enjoy my quiet time with God, where we can have our most intimate and personal conversations, but I look forward to the one day a week where I can worship God with so many others who love Him too! Worshipping God with others is so essential to the the souls of those who seek Him. It nourishes the soul, it offers deliverance, provides reassurance, it breaks yolks…corporate worship is everything!

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lordlet us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.” Psalm 95: 1-7

30 Days of Gratitude – Day 8 – Growth

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

I am so sooo grateful for growth! I’m not who I used to be, and not yet who I will be but I am grateful for the progressions that I have made so far. Growth is not always easy, but it makes you better than you were before. Growth prepares you for people, places, situations, responsibilities that you weren’t ready for before. It’s like going to a new level. For me,  growth is a constant prayer; that I learn from what life has dealt me, and use it to become a better person.

What are you grateful for today? ❤ Happy Saturday 🙂

30 Days of Gratitude – Day 6 – A Praying Mother and Father

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

I pray that I am half as wonderful to children as my parents have been to me. I am so eternally grateful for my parents and how influential, loving, and nurturing they have been in my life. Even now, as I am on my own, I can rely on my parents for anything. One of the things that I can rely on my parents doing for me without asking, is their prevailing prayer for me. There is power in a praying mother and father, it’s like having an extra covering over your life. That doesn’t mean difficult things won’t happen in life, but it means that you have people who are there to help you and pray you through those hard times. Seeing how my parents prayed for me has allowed me to become the praying woman that I am today. They led by example and showed me that prayer is a way to access God in the good times and the bad times.

30 Days of Gratitude – Day 5 – Quiet Moments

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

In a world that is full of noise, I’m so thankful for quiet moments. Quiet moments are often my most peaceful moments. Why? In these quiet times, have conversations with God, think clearly, brainstorm, or just be still. Being in the company of myself also allows me to look inward and self reflect. Sometimes during self-reflection, we can be disappointed with what we find, but identifying or strengths and weaknesses ultimately make us better than we were before.

“If we really listen, it is our quiet moments that tell our story..” – Dianne Adams

30 Days of Gratitude – Day 4 – Purpose

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

“Before I shaped you in the womb,
    I knew all about you.
Before you saw the light of day,
I had holy plans for you:
A prophet to the nations—
that’s what I had in mind for you.” – Jeremiah 1:5

Isn’t it amazing to know that God has a purpose for every single person on this Earth? YOU included. I’m so grateful for having purpose on my life. Do I have days where I feel like I’m going through the motions? That I’m not pleased about where I am in life? Absolutely. But I am reminded that everything that I am doing is because God has a purpose and a plan for my life. Purpose means that there is worth. God has deemed you worthy enough to fulfill his plan. Have you accepted your purpose? It is a process that is often frustrating, confusing, and challenging. You find out what your weaknesses and strengths are, you stretch yourself, you may do things that you never even imagined. Your purpose is God’s glory being fulfilled in you. When you live in your purpose, you are living your best life. I’m so glad that I am walking in my purpose. I’m grateful that there is a plan for my life, that God has designed me for something special.
