30 Days of Gratitude – Day 2 – A Perfect God

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

My sister in law quoted my 5 year old niece’s prayer the other day, and she said “Dear God, Thank you for being perfect for me.” Whoa! Out of the mouth’s of babes. What a profound statement. I’m thankful for that too. I am certainly not perfect, but I am grateful for a God who is. I know that I am flawed and I am okay with that because I have a God who’s love is unconditional. Psalms 18:30 AND 2 Samuel 22:31 say, “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is proven true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge to him.” I’m grateful for his grace and his mercy everyday. I also know that God’s grace covers what is unperfect about me. God says in His word, “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)  Happy Sunday!

30 Days of Gratitude – Day 1 – Platform

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

I’m so excited to be starting this 30 days of gratitude. Blogging everyday will be challenge for me, as I am still in school, have midterms, finals, cruise, and most importantly thanksgiving! But I am up for a challenge, and I hope to be a source of inspiration for others to do the same. We are entering into a season of gratitude and reflection. This is one of my favorite times of the year and there is so much to be grateful for.

Today, I am grateful for a platform to share my voice. This may not mean much to some people, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to blog because I think of all of those who are not able to share their voice maybe out of fear or maybe because they can’t. As a woman, I was always taught to share my thoughts, feelings, and opinions, but there was a time in my life where I didn’t because I was afraid. Freely Fatima gives me the privilege of sharing with people from all of the world, and it is something that I don’t take for granted. When I started my blog, I was giving myself permission to begin to outpour what has been held inside for so long.

What are you grateful for today? Share with me ❤

Tithing on a Budget

Tithing on a Budget | Freely Fatima

Have you ever had a moment in life where your cup was just overflowed with blessings? That’s God’s promise to us. The word says, “Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10.  In order to fulfill what God has already promised us, there are some things that we are required to do so that we can receive it. Tithing  is one of those action oriented components of being a believer in the body of Christ. 10% is what God asks us to give. It’s not about the dollar amount but it’s about your willingness to honor God, build the church, and believe God’s promises to us.  But this post is not about why we should tithe, it’s about incorporating tithing in to your budget. While we should not think about tithing as a bill per se, but it should definitely be included in our budget.

No matter how you give your tithes (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly), tithing should be the first thing on your budget..the first thing that you give back from what you have been given.  Why? Continue reading

Are You in A Season of Sacrifice?

Add subtitle text

Lately, I have been talking to God, thanking Him for his love, his mercy, and the favor over my life. This is my constant prayer, but I have thought about where I was several years ago, and where I am now.  The last couple of years have been pretty good. I graduated with my masters, got a job to start my career, got married, we’ve traveled, splurged, bought a car (my husband too!) I mean, life has been good. I’m not at all bragging, but my point is there are moments in life where we are not totally strapped by our situations whether that means financially or by time. There are moments in life where we can live life a little bit more freely. But the question is, how did we get to this point? Sacrifice.

Breakup to Makeup: 5 Simple Secrets to Stay Together

Break up-2

I believe, that for every couple that breaks up, there are two that are trying to work it out. The media glorifies celebrity break ups and couple scandals way more than marriages. The sanctity and seriousness of marriage has been reduced to game playing. We don’t see many TV shows about thriving marriages or relationships, but we are seeing volatile, unhealthy relationships that almost always end up in divorce and/or brokeness. Whether we like it or not, our behaviors and thoughts about the world are greatly influenced by what we see and hear.

When you have God in your relationship, nothing is supposed to get in-between what God has joined together. Out of the hard times, can flourish an even tighter bond and closer connection. Don’t get me wrong, I am not anti-divorce, but I am pro-marriage. I am in no way saying that if the relationship is not working, that you should stay and remain unhappy. Some relationships are here to teach us something, and are not meant to be permanent, however there are those relationships that are meant to be everlasting with no expiration date

Here are the five simple things you should do to stay together: Continue reading

Blessings from Blogging

 Add subtitle text-3

It’s been about 7 months since I started my blog. I originally started it only focusing on finances, but wanted to expand it so that I could reach a bigger audience. For the first couple of months, I felt so uneasy, like I had no direction and was feeling really discouraged.

I wasn’t sure if this was something that I should be doing. I’m not really sure what changed my spirit, but once I changed my domain to freelyfatima.com, I could see the vision. I was getting a lot of encouragement from family and friends, and I was feeling revived.

I’m not exactly sure where this blog is going to take me, Continue reading

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: 10 Bible Verses to Build Your Self Esteem

You Are-2

Growing up, I was told that I was beautiful, I was told that I could be anything I wanted to be, that I had a beautiful spirit, and that God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. And I believed it. I still believe it. But, as the world came at me, my self-esteem was reduced to nothing. I had been given all of these tools to build myself up, but I didn’t know how to use them.

As a young girl, I was different than many of my peers and because of that, I was a target for name calling, bullying, threats, you name it; and my naivety caused me to be heartbroken by people who I thought cared about me. There was nothing more that my parents or loved ones could do. They provided me with love and support, and everything that I needed or wanted. From the outside looking in, there was no reason for me to have low self-esteem. There was something that I had to find within myself to see what others saw in me. That’s the most important thing. What do you think about yourself? It took me a long time to build my self-esteem back up…and honestly I am still working on it.   Continue reading
