30 Days of Gratitude – Day 20 – Sister

30 Days of Gratitude Freely Fatima

I have not blogged in 7 days! Why? I thought I would have access to internet on my cruise, but I was sadly mistaken. I was completely unplugged…which was actually quite liberating. I am grateful for my time off. I went to the Bahamas with my sister in law, niece, and 97 other women. It was such a blessing and such fun. What I loved most about this trip was the time I spent with my sister. I did not grow up with sisters, but I have been blessed with women in my life who have acted as such..women who have been there for me, been a shoulder to cry on, to encourage me, laugh with me…well my sister in law has been all of that and more

I’m so so grateful for her. More than words can say. We have only been sisters for about a year and a half but yet it feels like we have known each other for a lifetime…I mean we were finishing each other’s sentences! lol She is an awesome mom, wife, and a beautiful example of what it means to be a lady and a woman of God. I just constantly thank God for bringing us together through our husbands (our husbands are brothers!) xoxo

Being unplugged does feel liberating! That’s so great your sister in law and you have such a great relationship! I LOVE my sister so much and she’s my best friend. Being 4 years apart it was weird when I was in middle school and she was in high school or when I was in HS and she was in college but now that I’m 22 and she’s turning 26 next week, we are closer than ever ❤

I am very grateful for my family. I remember taking some time off from blogging once and it was fun but it was a lot of work to catch back up. 🙂

I am thankful for my amazing boyfriend. I’ve been having a really stressful week at work and he has been surprising me everyday with a little something special. My favorite lunch delivered to my office, a car waiting to take me home (so i don’t have to wait for the bus in the rain).

I’m grateful for spending this time with my family and friends! And, I love the sweet Autumn air with the subtle chill in the air, the need for comfort foods and comfy pajamas/robes and heat! ❤

That’s one thing I miss in my life, a sister! I know my life would be different if I had one sister. That’s the reason why I treasure my best friends because they are like sisters to me….

Aw, I’m glad you had that break and invaluable personal time with your sister(in-law). That’s awesome that you have such a close relationship with her! I have a sister-in-law, but we’re very different (in age, demographics, lifestyle, etc.), so I don’t think I’d ever be able to have an experience like yours. You are very lucky!!

What a beautiful post. I don’t have much family near me but God has blessed me with such wonderful family through Him. There is so much I am thankful for but I can truly say I am most thankful for my relationship with God. He has never left me alone and even when I feel that I am least deserving of His love there He is shining His light on me brighter than ever. God bless you my sister in Christ!
